List of Known Spells
Passive: Magic or effects which are always active.
Binding: Fex is a powerful necromancer who maintains many undead thralls. They're forced to obey his every whim, and are entirely reliant on his magical energy to sustain their bodies. If his magic were to fade, so would they, until eventually they turned to dust. It also means that he can sense them wherever they are, and communicate with them at a distance through a spell.
Thrallmaster: Fex's thralls feed directly off his magic, meaning that he has to sacrifice some of his own power into every thrall he creates, decreasing his own direct combat power. However, this also gives him an effective reserve of magic in the form of sacrificing thralls to reclaim their magical power. Since a reanimated thrall contains a remnant of its previous soul, this means that creating thralls will actually increase the necromancer's total net power. It also means that he could simply transfer his soul into any existing thrall if his primary body were to perish. All this in combination with the undead army at their disposal for more obvious and practical applications, necromancers are widely regarded as "difficult to fully defeat."
Living Dead: Fex is infused with and empowered by necrotic energy, allowing him to utilize and embody partial aspects of the undead while remaining mortal himself. Generally, he's resistant (but not immune like actual undead) to the weaknesses of the living, such as: poison, disease, suffocation, starvation, dehydration, fatigue, pain, and age, while also being able to survive and regenerate normally fatal wounds. In addition, he is resistant to the negative passives of most undead creatures. For example, he could easily see through the invisibility of a ghost, or not feel the chilling aura of a wraith.
Dread Sacrifice: Fex sacrifices a number of nearby thralls, drawing their magical energy into his staff to power up his next spell. The sacrificed thralls turn to ash and can't be recovered, and the magical energy they held is wasted after the next spell is used. The additional strength gained will depend on the amount and strength of the thralls sacrificed.
Normal Mode: Magic useable without any special transformations or conditions.
Binding Resurrection: The bread-and-butter of any necromancer. This spell allows Fex to reanimate a recently deceased creature and bind it to himself as an undead thrall. The type of undead raised depends on a wide variety of factors, including the whim of the caster as well as many qualities of the deceased creature and its soul.
Winds of Death: A rolling, wave-like pulse of pure necrotic energy lurches forward at Fex's command, ripping out the soul of any living creature it touches. Once afflicted, the soul begins to leak into Fex's staff. The time this takes and how much soul is lost depends on the relative strength of this spell and the target. This spell is typically extremely weak, and thus usually requires Dread Sacrifice to empower it before it's effective.
